Haji Malang is a very nice place to visit. Haji Malang is also known as Malanggarh. There is both a dargah and a temple in Malanggarh. There are many monkeys on the way to Haji Malang. Who tries to snatch your food. So protect yourself. Lift work is in progress at Haji Malang.
We visited Malanggad on the 2nd of jan during winter. We drove from thane to this place in 1.15 hours and started the trek at 8am. The trek takes you through thousands of constructed steps and hundreds of shops are lined up along the way selling cold drinks, eatables, religious goods etc. There is garbage all along the way and on Sundays it can get crowded with hundreds of pilgrims making their way to the haji malang dargah as well as temple located on top.
I actually started enjoying the trek once we moved past the main dargah and moved higher up. That trip was absolutely super and the 4 stars ⭐ is given for that trip which starts when the steps get over and you start walking on the forest track. It took us 1.30 hours to reach the main base of the malanggad fort. Instead of moving up we did a pradakshina ( circular journey around the fort). The pradakshina route was awesome and through dense forest cover. We passed through datta mandir located inside a dense tree 🌳🌴 cover. Moving further we passed through several prehistoric water tanks and open plateau. We completed the circular trek in 2 hours and reached back to the steps again and started our way back down. By 12 . 15 pm we reached at the starting point. Due to very high human activity this place has become dirty and plastic waste is thrown all over the place. Very little importance is given for the preservation of this awesome mountainous fort. The pinnacle structure of this fort from far is so inviting and challenges the trekker.
For first time trekkers, this trek will hurt your knees big time due to the thousands of steps that one needs ro climb and descend. Be prepared to allocate 6 hours altogether for the trek both ways.
A peaceful place one must visit located at the top of mountains. One have to take the steps to visit the Dargah and also you can stay as it have some of the guesthouses and also there are many hotels which prpvide Veg and nonveg foods.
This is very nice place for trekking in monsoon and winter season….
There is small water fall near railway station(construction not completed )
must visit
One of the most calmest places with the hardest climb, i would suggest to do the climb at night and get a room get fresh and visit the place, people there are very cooperative and helpful, it is suggested to carry cash becomes anyother mode dosent work here. Really one of the hardest climb to get the best view
Great place. Beware of monkeys as well as stairs , packed water or food prices are bit higher , but great scenery, one should love it
One pf the best place to visit on this mountain range. Everything is available here if you wanna stay over night as well. Food , stay , great sights to see. The atmosphere is great so are the people.
